Raju Hajela, MD, MPH, CCFP (AM), FCFP
Dr. Hajela is an established addiction and family medicine physician based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He earned his MD from Dalhousie University in 1982 and his Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1988. His long-standing career spans over three decades in which he has held leadership roles in provincial, national, and international medical organizations. He is the Co-founder and principal of Health Upwardly Mobile Inc., an integrated health and wellness centre. Dr. Hajela is the lead developer of the Canadian Certification in Addiction Medicine (CCSAM) and contributor to establishing an internationally recognized definition of addiction via the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has extensive experience in developing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals, alongside a robust publication and conference presentation record.
