SunCloud Health is an integrated, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment center in Northbrook, Naperville, Chicago (Lincoln Park), and Gaithersburg, MD. Guided by Dr. Kim Dennis, our team provides highly individualized care, long-term support, and disease management for adults and adolescents of all genders struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, process addictions, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma (PTSD), and other mental health conditions.
Our integrated approach focuses on the unique history and needs of each patient, emphasizing helping those struggling with more than one (co-occurring) issue. We help our patients work toward sustainable steps, supporting their desire to live free from self-destructive behavior as they embark on a lifelong recovery journey.

Levels of Care
Levels of Care Explained
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
A Partial Hospitalized Program (or, “PHP”) is the level of care below a Residential level. While patients in a PHP do not stay overnight, they participate in daily intensive treatment programming multiple days a week for up to 6 hours a day. At SunCloud, we offer PHP 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) for 6 hours a day at all our locations. This type of program is best for those who are ready to apply all that they are learning in treatment to their daily lives in their home environments.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
An Intensive Outpatient Program (or, “IOP”) setting is the most flexible option, while still providing thorough treatment to those struggling with mental health symptoms. This care option can vary per center, but at SunCloud, our IOP runs 3-5 days per week for 3-5 hours per day of programming, at a minimum. In our IOP, patients participate in group and individual treatment weekly and are provided with community resources to help them reach their mental health goals.

Eating Disorder Treatment
Eating disorders are more common than one may think. Eating disorders are serious conditions that consist of unhealthy eating patterns that interfere with a person’s daily functioning. At SunCloud Health, we treat anorexia nervosa, binge eating disorder, bulimia, orthorexia, food addiction and other related eating disorders.
Mental Health Treatment
Our experts are trained to provide care for trauma, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns. We specialize in treating mental health disorders and co-occurring disorders such as eating disorders or substance use disorders. If you or a loved one are struggling with mood disorders such as depression, treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, SunCloud Health can help.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Drug and Alcohol addictions can pose serious threats to mental and physical health. In the worse cases, drug and alcohol abuse can be life-threatening. The sooner someone receives treatment, the better their chances are for a full, long-term recovery. SunCloud meets our patients where they are, and approach substance use treatment in an integrated and medically informed manner.
Often the multiple of the above conditions can occur at the same time. We treat all present disorders in our patients simultaneously, while guiding them through addressing underlying past traumas that may be contributing to their symptoms.
