Whether it’s physical suffering or mental and emotional pain, when we hurt, our attention is drawn inward. When the ability to see outside of ourselves diminishes, we often start to make decisions and engage in behavior choices that are less healthy and less purposeful.
This seminar focuses on using Gratitude as an intervention in helping patients move toward a more outward and purposeful mindset. It explores the research around gratitude and purpose and offers several practical interventions you can use in your practice.

Steve Wright is the Director of Christian Programming at SunCloud Health. He has a BA in Bible from Central Bible College, an MA in Teaching from Olivet Nazarene University, and an MA in Community Counseling from Illinois School of Professional Psychology.Steve’s career began in his 20’s as a young clergyman. Through the years he had the opportunity to develop a number of skills and to discover a giftedness and passion for counseling, supervision, and teaching. He is very trauma aware in his approach to supporting his patients and has worked extensively with individuals struggling with substance use, eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders.
