Jessica’s career began in community mental health as a counselor and advocate performing individual, family, and group therapy to children and adult survivors of Domestic Violence at Guardian Angel Community Services (Joliet, IL). Through these initial experiences, she developed a passion for working with folks impacted by trauma, neglect, and abuse as well as developmental and complex traumas.
Jessica is presently trained in three evidenced-based practices as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing via EMDR Consulting and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga via the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute. Her therapeutic approach focuses on the use of person-centered, somatic, and behavioral psychotherapies to help integrate the mind and body in understanding how past life experiences can affect present behavior, coping styles, and life choices. Jessica also utilizes a variety of theoretical approaches (ACT, CBT, DBT) to help clients thrive and build a meaningful life for themselves.
