Summertime offers teens the time and space to focus on mental health without academic pressures
CHICAGO, July 10, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — SunCloud Health, with treatment centers in the Chicago area (Lincoln Park, Northbrook, and Naperville), has launched a summer outpatient adolescent program for teens experiencing depression, substance use addictions, eating and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and related traumas.
“At least 88 percent of our teens are experiencing three or more mental health challenges,” said Kim Dennis, MD, CEDS, CEO and medical director of SunCloud Health. “By offering full psychiatric support, real-time therapy and a focus on the whole person, not just the symptoms, we can help teens in their healing journey.”
From structured therapy to family involvement and psychiatric support, SunCloud Health’s adolescent program is designed to meet individuals where there are and help them move forward.
Components of the adolescent program include:
- Flexible hours with in-person or virtual therapy
- Community and connection with focus on self-esteem, conflict resolution, and helping others
- Finding balance in eating, movement, and boundary setting
- Executive functioning including self-monitoring, time management, and organization
- Growth through transitions with healthy coping and distress tolerance skills
- Emotional regulation with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques
