Denise Hien, PhD, ABPP, is the Helen E. Chaney Endowed Chair in Alcohol Studies and a Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University. A nationally recognized expert in traumatic stress and addictions, her research focuses on co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders, integrated treatment models, and mental health disparities. Dr. Hien has led numerous NIH-funded clinical trials and continues to shape the future of trauma-informed, evidence-based care.
