Hannah Carra, Program Coordinator and Therapist: LSW

Hannah completed her undergraduate and graduate training at Loyola university Chicago. Hannah’s undergraduate clinical internship took place at GW and Associates in Rogers Park. She provided direct counseling and facilitated psychoeducational groups on addiction, as well as co-facilitating process groups.

After graduating from Loyola, Hannah began work as an Independent Living Specialist for youth who were on their way to emancipation from the DC FS system. She spent much of her time helping young adults work towards independence and maintaining apartments across the Chicagoland area, an experience which fueled a passion for justice and equality within the political system.

Hannah returned to Loyola and earned a Master of Social Work degree. Hannah’s clinical training continued at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Infectious Disease Clinic working with patients suffering from HIV and AIDS. Hannah pursued her passions to work with people who struggle with addictions and mood disorders. Her work with eating disorders began during the summer of 2013 at the Center for Discovery where she worked as a behavioral health specialist in a residential setting. Hannah then served as Admissions Coordinator at Timberline Knolls and subsequently Admissions Team Supervisor. She then accepted a position as a Clinical and Family Therapist in Timberline Knoll’s PHP department.

Hannah specializes in eating disorders, intimacy disorders, such as sex and love addiction and trauma. Hannah completed her level 1 training in EMDR, and attended several weekend long intensive Internal Family Systems trainings. Hannah’s therapeutic approach is rooted in her own spiritual beliefs and 12 step principles. Hannah has a strong passion for group therapy work, and believes strongly in Carl Jung’s belief that WE are all made up of several parts, many of which are kept in the shadow.
