Emily is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor registered with IOADAPCA. She has a passion for helping people who struggle with drug, alcohol and process addictions. Through the process of her own personal recovery, she found her niche working with others to overcome their struggles and lead healthy, productive and exemplary lives.
Emily began her career at Haymarket Center on the Mother and Children Unit, where she counseled pregnant and postpartum women. She also has experience as case manager with Thresholds, where she was able to use her expertise on Chicago housing, advocacy for vulnerable communities and homelessness to do street outreach with Chicagoans who suffer from co-occurring mental illness/addiction.
Emily names her strength as being able to “meet people where they are”. Her natural ability to connect with her clients makes her a trusted counselor. She has worked for years in therapeutic settings helping those who struggle from addiction realize their full potential. Emily specializes in working with adoptees, the LBGTQ+ population and people who suffer from substance use disorder.
