Supporting your desire to live free from self-destructive behavior as you embark on a life long journey of recovery.
Lead by one of the nation’s most prominent clinicians, Kimberly Dennis, MD, and her team of handpicked clinicians, SunCloud utilizes an integrated and holistic care delivery model that is evidence based and designed to maximize the value we can create for our patients and their families. By using what we know works and moving away from what we know doesn’t work, SunCloud’s patients are in a position to receive an extraordinary level of care that addresses their individual needs over graduated levels of outpatient care at an affordable cost.
At SunCloud we are aware that the mental health system is fragmented and in many ways broken. This is fueled in large part by a fee for service reimbursement model that inherently rewards volume rather than quality of care. There is massive fragmentation between medical and mental health care fueled by many payers and providers behaving as if medical health and mental health have little to do with one another. And there is a generally accepted practice within the mental health field of treating addiction, eating disorders or mental illness through shuttling patients into and out of specific and often isolated treatment “tracks” based on what may look like their “primary” diagnosis and without regard for other co-occurring illnesses or even what may be causing the symptom. By definition, co-occurring illness refers to two or more primary diseases, occurring in the same person, at the same time. At SunCloud Health, we refuse to add to the experience of fragmentation that so many of our patients have dealt with previously when seeking help.
We understand that mental illness and addictions are diseases which tear people and families apart. We also understand that treating co-occurring illnesses in parallel tracks rather than with a unified, integrated program ultimately leads to the delivery sub-optimal care, with unnecessary time and cost inefficiencies. Worst of all, patients often get lost in the system, bouncing back and forth from one program to the next or from one provider to the next, and some of them tragically dying in the process. Partnering with multidisciplinary leaders in business and healthcare, we are dedicated to challenging the business-as-usual mental health system by aligning the incentives of all of us who are committed to improving the lives of our patients and focusing on the long term value we can create—first and foremost by creating a unified treatment experience for our patients and their families.
SunCloud seeks to ensure all decisions and care plans are aligned with our core values of first in class quality of care, integration of care, transparency, cooperation and teamwork. Other core values include commitment to doing the next right thing, even in the face of fear, self-reflection, balance and perspective, community, dedication to lifelong growth and genuine humility. The SunCloud team believes in being held accountable for the treatment that we provide, and we hold our patients accountable to the steps they commit to taking in their sustainable recovery journey.
Each of our therapists have personal recovery experience themselves. We know that freedom from these diseases is the ultimate goal, and although achievable, we know this is often the most difficult process that any of our patients have ever faced. We know that the road to freedom is usually nonlinear, that freedom comes at cost, requiring an investment of time and a willingness to accept support. Our goal is to help our patients break free from the thoughts, obsessions and self-destructive behaviors that they have learned to use over time to cope with life’s challenges.
